July Update – 2010 ISC World Tournament
28 days ! That’s what the countdown timer is telling us as this update is
written…what began almost two years ago at the conclusion of the 2008 ISC in Kimberly, WI is going to become reality in less than a month. This week, the ISC finalized it’s list of 48 teams that will be competing for the World Tournament title. The Under-19 teams are making their plans to come for an expanded version of that segment as 10 teams will be playing against each other. And, new in 2010, the Legends division (50-over) will knock the dirt off their cleats and relive some of the magic of the game.
Park preparations are at the forefront of the Host Committee right now as Emerson Park is looking to put it’s best foot forward for teams and fans. The
infield at Currie Stadium has been renovated and will be in tip-top shape for the tournament. Concession vendors are finalizing their menus, and the adult beverages are on tap. The fields at Redcoats complex underwent some modifications earlier in the Spring in preparation for the tournament, and teams will find that both places are excellent venues.
While the final schedule of games isn’t quite complete, we do have some important dates for everyone to keep in mind. We hope that players and fans will support all of these activities as we’re striving to make 2010 a tournament to remember!
